The Coronation

The Coronation of His Majesty The King will take place on Saturday 6th May, 2023.

The Coronation Ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey, London, and will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Ceremony will see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside The Queen Consort.

The government has announced that Monday 8th May will be an additional Bank Holiday to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.

This is designed to allow for communities across the country to come together to celebrate this historic occasion.

Street Parties

Organising a street party to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III between Saturday 6th and Monday 8th May meant applying to Sefton Council by the Friday 14th April deadline.

The Big Lunch a project to bring neighbours and communities together to share friendship, food and fun over the Coronation weekend has been launched.

The Big Help Out

To mark His Majesty The King’s Coronation thousands of organisations across the country are getting together to give people the chance to help out in their own local communities.

Starting on Monday 8th May, there will be opportunities for everyone to join in. No matter what you are good at, there’ll be something to suit helping hands of all shapes and sizes!

From checking in on someone who’d like a bit of company or volunteering for a charity the more of us who join in, the bigger help we will be.
