We are SafeLives - Ending domestic abuse

eLearning Opportunity: Non-fatal strangulation offence

The Domestic Abuse Commissioner has called for training on non-fatal strangulation for frontline workers.

Many Victims of sexual violence and domestic abuse will be familiar with non-fatal strangulation. "Dr Cath White, Forensic Physician and ex-clinical Director of St Mary's Sexual Assault Referral Centre says:

"Sometimes the intent of the attacker will be to kill the victim but many times it will be a way to control her"

The eLearning package is aimed at raising awareness on this issue and has been developed for Frontline workers. It takes around twenty minutes to complete and can be found here: Safelives.org
