Mental health

We all have mental health and well all need to do what we can to take care of it, just as we do with our physical health.

Mental well being is about how you feel in yourself, how you communicate positively with those around you and how you cope with everyday stresses that life throws at you.

Everyone will have times in their lives when they feel stressed or worried, which can sometimes lead to more profound mental health issues.

Our mental health, whether good or bad, has an impact on all parts of our lives, from how we see ourselves to how we see and treat other people.

Your life can be easier and more enjoyable if you take some of the following steps to improve your mental health:

  • Talk about your feelings
  • Stay active / enjoy exercise
  • Eat a healthy balanced diet and drink sensibly
  • Stay in touch with friends and loved ones
  • Accept who you
  • Take a break

There is a wealth of information out there to support you with your mental health. Take a 10 minutes and check out some of the following resources:

In Sefton there is a range of local and national organisations who can support you with your mental health, which you can find at the Adult Services Directory
