Help shape Sefton’s walking, wheeling and cycling future
Sefton Council is developing a policy to improve walking, wheeling, and cycling within the community. The policy is called the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan, also referred to as the 'LCWIP'. It shows where improvements are needed for safer, more accessible routes for everyone.
The Plan sets out proposals for footpaths, crossings, cycle lanes and other routes including Sefton’s existing popular routes. They have been drawn up by mapping local destinations and places of interest and existing infrastructure and joining it up with wider Liverpool City Region plans.
Why are we doing this?
The plan will help Sefton Council get essential funding from the Government to make improvements and can support healthier choices in how we travel.
What does Sefton’s Waking and Cycling Plan aim to do?
-
Build safe and welcoming walking and cycling routes for everyone.
-
Help more children and young people walk or cycle to school.
-
Remove barriers so routes are accessible to all ages and abilities.
-
Support Sefton’s goal to be carbon neutral by 2030.
-
Choose routes that are the highest priority and plan how to deliver them.
