Interview: Jasmine Brennan

SeftonArc provides security solutions for both staff and residents in the Borough. And Jasmine Brennan, an Operations Officer nominated for her sterling work across the year, can’t speak highly enough of them.

You can see Jasmine talk about SeftonArc and her nomination in this video:

Thanks for talking to us, Jasmine! Could you tell us about your work with SeftonArc?

Within SeftonArc, I work across the service itself; that includes the Careline, the Alarms Receiving Centre, and Electrical Alarms. Within that, I assist with streamlining processes, doing risk assessments – which is always fun! - and safe systems of work. But then I’ll also work alongside any upcoming projects.

It’s incredibly fast-paced and there’s a lot of things to do, so every day is different, but I get the opportunity to work on projects like new systems coming in place within the service, but then also the more operational side of things.

You were given special recognition this year – how does that feel?

I feel incredibly privileged to be recognised for my work thus far. For the management to see the small things I do and how that adds to the bigger picture – it's truly a privilege. I’m very surprised but feel incredibly lucky for it.

It sounds like you’re very thankful for the nomination – is there anyone in particular you want to give a shout out to?

My manager, Joanne Alty, is a role model herself – she's fantastic! I feel, again, incredibly privileged to work with her. The teams that I get to work with are phenomenal. I can’t really put into words how great they are.

The Careline team, the Electrical Alarms team, the Admin team is fantastic and incredibly supportive. The Arc team that’s upstairs in our building too...every single one of them has provided me with more knowledge and more tools to be able to do my job. For that, they deserve all the thanks, definitely!

You’ve clearly got a lot of love for SeftonArc. What’s the best thing about it?

Everything is the best about working for SeftonArc. The best part of it is that it’s incredibly collaborative. There are three services, technically, within SeftonArc. But everyone is willing to work with each other to ensure that they can work to the best of their ability for protecting vulnerable adults and keeping the community safe.

So it’s that collaboration, but alongside that everyone is incredibly hard-working. They all have the same unified goal, and it can do everything. There’s never a “we may not be able to do that”, it’s “we will work out how to do that to the best of our ability.”

SeftonArc is the best – it is truly the best.
