Elle Morris is a new Business Support Assistant, following on from a fruitful apprenticeship. Here’s Elle talking about her short but successful time at Sefton Council so far!
Elle features in our video about Stars nominees, which you can see below:
Hi Elle – tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a Business Support Assistant, having finished an apprenticeship as an Apprentice Administrator. I work in the Business Unit of the Sefton’s Safeguarding Children Partnership.
I do minute-taking, manage online bookings, communications across the partnership – that's health, police, education, social care. Recently, I’ve really enjoyed doing some more creative things, like flyers and presentations. I’m a visual learner, so it’s nice to be able to do stuff like that!
You’ve not been here long, but you’ve already been recognised for your work. That must be a real confidence boost for you!
It feels really good to be recognised for my role and my work – even though I can’t take a compliment to save my life!
It does reassure me that, not only am I doing the job right, but I’m doing it well. It makes me feel valued and seen, and motivates me to continue to work hard.
I’d like to thank my team – we're a small team, but we get a lot done! We work really well together. There’s not enough that they can help me with, there’s no bad time to ask for help, and they’ve really supported me to help me develop.
Based on the time you’ve been with the Council so far, what have you enjoyed the most?
The best thing about working for Sefton Council is that I feel there’s a lot of room to develop. There’s obviously so many different teams and different roles, but also the opportunity to advance in the role you’re in.
I did get involved in working on the elections – that was something I took on as well and I really enjoyed that, it felt really important and meaningful.
Since joining Sefton Council, I feel like I have a greater sense of community, I appreciate how much the Council does for the community and I feel really happy to be a part of it.
