Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are stressful events or trauma occurring in childhood including domestic violence, abuse (physical, sexual, neglect or emotional), a parent with a mental health condition, being exposed to substance misuse and more which may impact on the future mental and physical health of the individual.
Sefton’s ACEs programme is delivered over 10 weeks to single gender groups both male and female to work through this trauma and how to understand and process their trauma and manage it in adult life.
You can find details of our ACES programme in our Family Hubs brochure.
Think ACEs, Create PACES
Upon completion of the ACEs programme, participants are invited to join the Think ACES, Create PACES Group which work to deliver trauma informed training to professionals who work with families in Sefton to ensure a better understanding of how past trauma can have a lifelong impact.
