Using our Brand Identity

Our Wave Graphic

What it is

The wave graphic is a core visual element of the Sefton brand. It is derived directly from the main logo, creating a distinctive graphic device that remains clearly connected to the wider brand identity.

What it represents

The wave reflects Sefton as a place shaped by both natural rhythm and structured progress.

  • The flowing curve references the coastline and the natural movement of the sea.
  • The clean, consistent construction reflects planning, stability, and forward thinking.
  • Together, these elements symbolise the connection between place, people, and progress across the borough.

The balance between organic curves and precise forms positions Sefton as a modern, connected coastal region with a strong sense of place and purpose.

Our Colour Palette

Overview

The Sefton colour palette is inspired by the borough’s natural environment and the energy of its communities. Each colour has a defined role and meaning, working together to balance calmness with vitality.

Colour meanings

  • Blue
Reflects the coastline and open skies. Conveys trust, stability, and openness.

  • Green
Draws from parks, dunes, and landscapes. Represents sustainability, growth, and long‑term commitment.

  • Red
Adds energy and pride. Symbolises people, culture, and the vibrancy of Sefton’s communities.

  • Yellow
Introduces warmth and optimism. Evokes sunlight, opportunity, and a positive, forward‑looking outlook.

Together, the palette positions Sefton as a place that is grounded in its environment and driven by its people.

What is a Brand Identity?

A brand is more than just a logo.
It’s the overall personality and image that people recognise and trust. While the logo is important, a strong brand is built through other elements, including:
  • Typeface
  • Writing style
  • Colours
  • Photography and video
  • Layout and design of publications
By following these guidelines and using our brand consistently, we help create a positive and lasting impression of Sefton.
Our brand should never be used in a way that could harm the borough’s reputation.
