Sefton is home to a wealth of events and attractions including the Grand National steeplechase at Aintree, Antony Gormley’s Another Place artwork on Crosby beach, and Royal Birkdale Golf Club – a regular Open Championship venue.
The borough has 22 miles of coastline - home to golden beaches, rolling sand dunes, rare wildlife and a range of flowers and plants.
One of Britain’s last remaining native red squirrel populations can be found in the coastal woodland at Formby. The delightful creatures are always a hit with visitors.
In the north of the borough lies the seaside town of Southport – famous for its beaches, world-class golf, superb choice of restaurants, family attractions and a vibrant events programme.
Covid-19 Restrictions: From 29th March
From Monday 29th March, we enter the next phase in the gradual relaxation of lockdown restrictions.
Some restrictions to limit the risk of infection from Covid-19 are therefore to be lifted as part of stage 1 of the government’s roadmap.
Once again this has some impact on the services provided by Green Sefton and how that affects our visitors, volunteers and staff to many of our outdoor spaces. Full details can be found here.
