Community Environment Fund

Liverpool City Region Combined Authority has announced a third year of funding for the Community Environment Fund. 

The Combined Authority is looking to support community environment projects in order to raise awareness of the climate emergency, start to mitigate its effects and increase engagement and participation in environmental projects.

Green projects from across the Liverpool City Region can now apply for grants of up to £30,000 for initiatives that encourage long-term behavioural change, while improving the city region’s environment and safeguarding its green spaces.

The fund has already supported 92 local environmental projects including community gardens, bikes for veterans, beekeeping and food growing initiatives.

Have your say on Coastal Erosion

There is a public consultation underway on Crosby Interim Coastal Defences and people are encouraged to have their say on the plans to protect coastal paths.

The consultation specifically focuses on the King Charles III coastal walking path and a national cycling route which is at risk of being washed away.

Solar Together

Solar Together is a group-buying scheme for solar panels and battery storage.

This innovative scheme will enable homeowners in Sefton and across the City Region to buy solar panels and battery storage helping them to cut their energy costs while also reducing their carbon emissions.  There is also an option to have electric vehicle charging points fitted.

Solar Together Liverpool City Region will help the city region's homeowners feel confident that they are paying the right price for a high-quality installation from pre-approved installers. The scheme is also open to small and medium-sized enterprises and places of worship.

It is free to register and there is no obligation to go ahead with an installation. The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is working in partnership with Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral councils, and independent experts iChoosr, to make the transition to clean energy as cost effective and hassle-free as possible.

Home Upgrade Grant

The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority is working with Local Authorities to make changes to eligible properties (known as retrofit measures) to support to reduce energy bills, reduce carbon emissions, and make homes warmer.

The funding will be split across Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens, and Wirral Local Authorities to support households that meet the conditions of the funding, including owner-occupiers and the private rented sector for works to be carried out on around 500 properties by March 2025.
