Sefton Council’s Dave Clay Appointed as President of the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities

Sefton Council is proud to announce that its Bereavement Services Manager, Dave Clay, has been appointed President of the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA).
This is a national honour bestowed at the annual CBCE (Cremation and Burial Communication and Education) conference held in June 2025.
Two decades of invaluable experience
Dave brings more than two decades of invaluable experience to this prestigious role. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated unwavering commitment, professionalism, and compassion in serving bereaved families and improving bereavement services.
Vital leadership
As President of the FBCA, Dave will play a vital leadership role in guiding and supporting local authorities and industry professionals across the UK. His appointment recognises not only his deep knowledge of bereavement services but also his dedication to upholding the highest standards of care, sustainability, and innovation within the sector.

Cllr Peter Harvey, Cabinet Member for Cleansing and Street Scene, said:
