Sefton Council has reached a significant milestone in its ambitious Bootle Strand Transformation Project, with the completion of demolition works along the Palatine. This marks a key step forward in Phase One of the multi-million-pound redevelopment programme, which aims to reshape Bootle town centre into a more accessible, inclusive and dynamic destination for residents, businesses and visitors.
Works will continue through to December 2025
The demolition works, carried out by VINCI Building who have been appointed as Construction Partner overseeing the demolition works, signal the continuation of extensive site clearance and structural preparation that will continue through to December 2025.
Timelapse video of demolition process
To mark this important step, Sefton Council has released a timelapse video capturing the demolition process, offering residents and stakeholders a unique behind-the-scenes look at the transformation in action. The video is available to watch on the Council’s official website and social media channels.
Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Skills and Employment, said: “The completion of demolition along the Palatine is a clear sign of progress of the project. This is about creating a town centre that reflects the aspirations of our community, supports local businesses and provides opportunities for generations to come. It is great to see the project progressing.”
Ensuring the transformation meets the needs and ambitions of the community
Sefton Council remains committed to working closely with residents, businesses, and stakeholders throughout the development to ensure the transformation reflects the needs and ambitions of the Bootle community.
