Sefton Carers Centre’s Chair of Trustees recognised in King’s Birthday Honours list

Mo Kundi, Chair of Trustees at Sefton Carers Centre was honoured with an MBE as part of the King’s official birthday celebrations this year.
He was honoured in recognition of his achievements and services to Sefton Carers Centre where he has been Chair of the Board of Trustees since 2014.
Charity dedicated to support
Located in Waterloo, Sefton Carers Centre is a charity dedicated to supporting unpaid carers from the age of five upwards living in the Borough.
Support to over 12,500 unpaid carers
Since Mo became Chair, the Centre’s services have increase to support over 12,500 unpaid carers, who care for a family member or friend who have a long-term illness or life limiting condition.
As well as being Chair of Trustees, Mo also supports two other charities and has given his time as a governor to a local college.
Honoured, thrilled and humbled
Mo Kundi, Sefton Carers Centre Chair of Trustees, said:
“I am very honoured, thrilled and humbled to receive this award but feel this is more for the unsung heroes that are the unpaid carers in Sefton and across the UK, and the staff that work extremely hard to provide support and services to enable carers to care.”
Heart of the charity

“Mo has been pivotal in the development of Sefton Carers Centre and has been at the heart of our charity for over 11 years.
“Mo has worked tirelessly in his support for unpaid carers and the people of Sefton. I am delighted and thrilled at this national recognition which is so well deserved.”

“It’s very much a partnership approach in Sefton and it’s people like Mo that make a real difference.”
