The National Heritage Lottery Funded Sefton CVS Sefton at 50 Hearts of Gold Project will launch its community heritage trails in the week beginning 12^th May to celebrate Sefton’s vibrant community heritage in recognition of the borough’s golden anniversary (1974-2024).

Fantastic local volunteers across Sefton have identified special people, places and events to create community heritage trails in Bootle, Netherton and Formby, celebrating local communities and people, beloved established institutions and charity, voluntary and faith groups. There will be wooden hearts located along the trail with QR codes to tell you a more about that location and where you can tell us about your memories too.

The trails are one aspect of the larger project which has funded 32 community groups to celebrate their communities’ heritage with a focus on the last 50 years. The diverse and vibrant projects will be showcased in a touring exhibition later in the year along with the community heritage trails.
