The world-famous Red Arrows are set to make a spectacular return to Southport Air Show later this year.

Appearing both days, the Red Arrows are the pinnacle of a hugely promising another unforgettable weekend of aviation, family entertainment and high-flying excitement in the resort.

Much-loved

Taking place on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August 2026, Southport Air Show once again promises to bring tens of thousands of visitors to the town and wider Borough for one of the North West’s biggest and best-loved annual events.

The Royal Air Force Red Arrows will be among the most popular of this years headline attractions, thrilling crowds with their trademark precision flying, colourful smoke trails and breathtaking formations over Southport’s seafront.

They will be joined by the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight - featuring the Spitfire, Hurricane and Dakota - as well as the RAF Tutor, in displaying on both days of the show.

Standout display

The Reds’ return is expected to be one of the standout moments of the weekend, adding to a packed programme of aerial displays, ground attractions, family activities and entertainment along the coast.

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Skills and Employment, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the Red Arrows back to Southport Air Show in 2026.

“It’s no secret that they are one of the most iconic display teams in the world and their performances always create a truly special atmosphere along our coastline.

“We have been working hard in the background for many months to get the Red Arrows and other stunning RAF aircraft to appear.

“Southport Air Show is a major highlight in Sefton’s events calendar, bringing families, aviation enthusiasts and visitors together for a brilliant weekend by the sea.

“As well as the spectacular displays in the skies, there will be plenty happening on the ground too, making it a fantastic day out for people of all ages.

“Events like this play a really important role in attracting visitors, supporting local businesses and showcasing everything Southport has to offer.”

Southport Air Show is renowned for its unique coastal setting, with aircraft performing above the resort’s expansive beach and promenade, giving visitors exceptional views of the displays.

Further details about the full 2026 flying programme, ground attractions, ticketing and visitor information will be announced in due course.

Visitors are encouraged to book early, plan their journey in advance and keep an eye on official Southport Air Show channels for the latest updates.
