Excitement is building in Bootle as Salt and Tar’s highly anticipated Music Weekender draws near, with just one week to go until Bootle comes alive with four unforgettable nights of live music.

Four unforgettable nights of live music 

Kicking things off in style, soul legend Billy Ocean will take to the stage on Thursday 7th August joined by very special guests The Real Thing for an evening packed with iconic hits and feel-good classics. Indie favourites The K’s follow on Friday 8th August, bringing their trademark energy and fan-favourite anthems to Salt and Tar’s vibrant open-air venue.

On Saturday 9th August, pop icons the Sugababes promise an electric night of chart-topping hits and unstoppable party vibes. Finally, the weekend will close in spectacular fashion on Sunday 10th August, when Britpop legends Ocean Colour Scene headline a memorable final night joined by a supporting lineup of Cast, Keyside, and The Solaas.

Salt and Tar’s Music Weekender is fast becoming a standout date on the UK festival calendar, delivering an unbeatable mix of iconic acts and rising stars in a unique setting right in the heart of Bootle.

An eveing of good music, food and drinks 

The site opens daily at 4pm, with the bustling food and drink village ready to welcome early arrivals. Tuck into mouthwatering options from Bus Yard’s Chicken Box and Burger Box, savour Greek delights from Pitamu or enjoy vibrant Indian veggie and vegan dishes from Bundobust. A well-stocked bar will offer a wide range of drinks to keep the good times flowing all evening.

Festival-goers can pick up official merchandise, visit the festival glitter stall or stay dry in style with festival ponchos on sale. Live performers will entertain on the streets leading up to Salt and Tar, setting the mood before you even step inside.

The event finishes at 10pm each night, with the car park at The Strand MSCP closing at 11pm.

Getting to Salt and Tar 

Salt and Tar is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from Bootle New Strand train station, with regular train and bus services making it easy to reach from across the region. For those travelling by car, parking is available at the Bootle Strand multi-storey car park. More information on car parking can be found here.
