Not too late to sign up for Friday's Bootle South Pride in Place event
01 July 2026 4 min read
Residents, community groups and organisations across Bootle South are being invited to a Pride in Place event taking place on Friday 3rd July at Bootle Town Hall.
Up to £20 million of government investment
Pride in Place is a community-led initiative designed to put local voices at the heart of decision-making. It could bring up to £20 million of government investment into Bootle South over the next ten years
Friday’s event - from 9:30am to 12 noon - offers will be a chance local people and organisations to find out more about the ambitious long-term programme. It is aimed particularly at voluntary, community and faith organisations and will provide more detail about the programme. This includes how groups can play a key role in the consultation and help influence the long-term vision.
The event will also outline available funding and create space for discussion about how the community can work together to make the most of this opportunity.
Book your free place here.
What matters most?
Pride in Place focuses on bringing people together to identify what matters most to the community, celebrate the strengths of the area and develop a shared vision for the future. The funding will support improvements shaped directly by the people who live, work and spend time in Bootle South. This will ensure that any investment reflects local needs, aspirations and experiences.
Wider consultation underway
Alongside Friday’s event, a wider Pride in Place community consultation is now underway. Residents can complete a survey and share their views on local spaces, activities, challenges and ideas for improvement.
Feedback gathered will directly inform the development of a ten-year investment plan for the area.
You can have your say on the Pride in Place scheme here.
Small grants available
Small grants will be available to help ensure that as many people as possible can get involved.
Voluntary, community and faith groups will be able to apply for up to £1,000 for activities that engage Bootle South residents in the conversation. These grants are intended to support outreach and engagement activity so that the vision for the area is co-created and owned by the community.
You can find details of how to apply here.
Applications are open until 11:59pm on Wednesday 8th July.
