Yellow Weather Warning for wind issued

The Met office has issued a Weather Warning for strong winds along with a spell of heavy rain leading to difficult travel conditions on the morning of Thursday 12th March.

Strong winds are expected  with gusts of 50 to 55 mph are expected widely, with some coastal locations seeing gusts of 60 mph or even 70 mph.

It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves

There could be some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport and delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

Gusts of around 50-60 mph are possible fairly widely, and potentially in excess of 70mph for some exposed headlands and high ground.
