11 September 2025 2min read

This autumn, Sefton businesses are invited to unlock new opportunities with a series of free workshops and networking events delivered by InvestSefton.

From finance know-how to public procurement insights and the Sefton Economic Forum, there is something for every business owner, entrepreneur and socially trading organisation.

Access to finance

The events begin with the Access to Finance Workshop on Wednesday 24th September at The Lake House, Waterloo. Doors will open from 9am and the workshop will begin at 9:30 am.

This practical and interactive session will be led by George Wright from the LCR Finance Hub and will explore a wide range of funding options, from asset finance and invoice discounting to equity finance.

Attendees will also learn how to check if their business is investment-ready, understand the practicalities of financial planning including forecasting, and hear about specific investment pots currently available for socially trading organisations.

For those seeking tailored guidance, one-to-one appointments can be pre-booked with the partners after the workshop.

Public procurement and economic forum

Businesses can also join one of two Public Procurement Workshops on Thursday 2nd October in Waterloo or Tuesday 7th October in Southport, both running from 9:30 to 11:30am.

Finally, the Sefton Economic Forum, on Thursday 27th November at The Lake House, Waterloo. The morning begins with a networking breakfast at 8:15am before the forum itself from 9am to 11am.

“These events are about giving Sefton’s businesses the knowledge, tools and networks they need to succeed. Whether it’s learning how to access finance, bidding for contracts or connecting at our Economic Forum, InvestSefton is here to support local businesses every step of the way. I’d encourage anyone running a business in Sefton to come along and get involved.”

All events are free, but places are limited. To book your place, email investsefton@sefton.gov.uk or call 0151 934 3452.
