King's Award nominations open for Sefton's volunteer groups

06 November 2026

Volunteer-led organisations across Sefton are being encouraged to apply for the The King's Award for Voluntary Service.

The award recognises groups who make an outstanding difference to their communities through the dedication and commitment of volunteers.

To be eligible for the award, groups have to have been operating for at least three years and provide a direct benefit to local people.

Residents, community leaders and partner organisations are encouraged to shine a spotlight on the voluntary groups making a real difference across Sefton by submitting a nomination before 1st December - successful groups will receive national recognition, including a certificate from The King.

Cllr Liz Dowd, Cabinet Member for Communities and Partnership Engagement said:

“In Sefton we are blessed with a large range of voluntary organisations going above and beyond to make a positive difference in our communities.

"It would be great to see more of them recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Voluntary Service. Therefore, if you know of a voluntary group who you feel deserves this special recognition, please take time to nominate them."
