Private sector confidence in Southport’s regeneration continues to grow, with yet another award winning business choosing to invest in the heart of the town centre.

North West’s best

Eastbank, also known as the Enterprise Arcade, is set to welcome one of the North West’s best independent coffee roasters - Crosby Coffee, who will take on the dedicated food and drink space within the landmark Eastbank Street development.

The move represents another important step forward for Eastbank, which opened in June 2025, as a new hub for creativity and innovation in the town centre.

Designed to provide high-quality workspace and modern facilities for entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing businesses in the digital and creative sectors, Eastbank forms a key part of Sefton Council’s wider investment in Southport’s Market Quarter.

Alongside flexible business and co-working space, the development includes a high-quality podcast and multimedia studio which is already attracting high-profile names, including former world champion boxer Tony Bellew and former Everton footballer Leon Osman.

The arrival of a well established Sefton business into the ground-floor commercial space is the latest sign of growing private sector confidence in the development and the wider regeneration of Southport town centre.

Real vote of confidence

Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economy and Skills, said: “This is another important milestone for Eastbank and a real vote of confidence in what we are creating in the heart of Southport.

“Our ambition has always been for Eastbank to be an environment where businesses want to set up, entrepreneurs can grow and the private sector sees opportunities to invest.

“Crosby Coffee are a fantastic example of a successful independent Sefton business which has grown an incredibly strong reputation across the North West and we are delighted they have chosen Eastbank for their latest venture.

“Their investment also adds to a much bigger picture. Significant regeneration is taking place across Southport and we are increasingly seeing businesses recognise the opportunities that this investment is creating.

“From Eastbank and the wider Market Quarter to our ambitious plans for Town Hall Gardens and other major developments across the town, we are working to create the conditions that encourage further private investment, support local businesses and give people even more reasons to spend time in Southport.”

Crosby Coffee already operates successful venues in Crosby and Hightown and supplies coffee to a range of cafés, hotels, restaurants and hospitality businesses across the region.

Investment in Southport continues to progress

The announcement comes as further investment in Southport town centre continues to progress. Just days ago, Sefton Council unveiled the latest proposals for the transformation of nearby Town Hall Gardens.

Second stage consultation gets underway ahead of Southport Town Hall Gardens regeneration

The £10 million legacy project is currently undergoing its second stage of public consultation, showcasing new designs for botanical gardens, performance and family spaces inspired by Southport’s history, heritage and character.

Following the consultation, a planning application for the scheme is expected to be submitted later this year. If approved, the project would transform the historic gardens into a safe, welcoming and multi-use public space for families, children, residents and visitors, complementing the growing investment taking place across the wider town centre.
