Sefton Council has welcomed the announcement that its scheme to transform Bootle Strand has been shortlisted in the Future Ambition category of the Insider Liverpool City Region Property Awards.

Exciting and Transformative

The Future Ambition Award is designed to shine a spotlight on the most exciting and transformative projects taking shape across the region.

Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills said: “Sefton Council is passionately committed to the regeneration of Bootle, so I am delighted by  the announcement in Insider that our plans have been recognised and shortlisted for this award.

“The Future Ambition Award highlights schemes that will have the biggest impact and support the growth and inward investment in the City Region, which is definitely the case with our £100 million plan for the regeneration of Bootle town centre based around the Strand.

“We have already attracted £20 million of Government funding and we are working closely with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority regarding the project and further funding opportunity. We believe that will unlock the significant private sector investment required to create a thriving town centre that works for all people, brings investment and interest to an area filled with opportunities and builds a happier, healthier, more resilient population.”

Consultation

Earlier this week, Sefton Council entered the second phase of public consultation on its Area Action Plan for Bootle.
