Sefton Council is inviting the community to continue shaping its ambitious plans that will ensure Bootle is a great place to work, live, shop and socialise.

Action Plan

Following the first round of public consultation last year, the Council has incorporated public feedback into its ‘Area Action Plan’, which sets out a clear vision for the town for the next 20 years and beyond.

The Plan identifies the locations in the town where regeneration and investment is needed and also aims to help to secure the homes that people need and want, good quality open spaces and facilities, job opportunities and approaches to tackle climate change and environmental issues.

The Area Action Plan is rooted in the people, businesses and organisations of the town. It will be a plan for the future of Bootle created by its residents and other stakeholders. It will also help support the Council’s ambitious plans for Bootle town centre.

Catalyst

Once adopted, the Plan will form part of the Development Plan for Sefton alongside the Local Plan. It will act as a catalyst for further investment in the town, creating more opportunities for local people and businesses.

Phase two of the Area Action Plan consultation began on Monday 14th August and will continue until Monday 6^th November. This gives residents and businesses 12 weeks to review and provide feedback on the contents of the plan.

“Our vision of offering a diverse range of services within the Strand and the transformation the surrounding areas would not be possible without Council ownership of the shopping centre and the loyalty of the people who go there.

“Reimagining what the town centre is for and expanding its offering will help us benefit Bootle for generations to come.

“The work we are all doing, both at the Council and through our fantastic community champions, is a catalyst for further regeneration and good growth that strengthens the local economy, attracts more investment into the town, and improves the health, wellbeing and life chances of local residents.”
