Sefton Council is leading on developing a new and exciting vision for the future of the borough and wants anyone who lives, works or visits Sefton to get involved.
Working closely with partners, businesses, private sector organisations, the voluntary, community and faith sector and the wider Sefton community, the aim is to focus on what is important and to be ambitious for the borough and its communities in the future.
Imagine Sefton 2030 will engage the public, local businesses and potential investors in creating a vision that will collectively promote shared prosperity, coordinated public investment, and a healthy environment and population.
The vision will guide long term planning - helping to collectively stimulate growth, prosperity, set new expectation levels and to help focus on what is important for Sefton.
Cllrs Paulette Lappin and Trish Hardy are the sponsors for the Imagine Sefton 2030 Vision and they along with Cllr Ian Maher, Labour leader at Sefton Council, are today (June 13) launching further engagement with our communities.
Cllr Ian Maher, said: "Imagine Sefton 2030 will build upon the work and the many conversations that have taken place with our communities during the past few years. The Vision will guide our borough into 2030 and beyond.
"Sefton Council is leading this initiative - but cannot deliver by itself. Developing the 2030 Vision will build upon the many strengths we have in Sefton including our partnership work and the unique assets that we have to offer.
"Now we want to hear from people who live, have businesses, work and visit Sefton so their views can help shape the future of our amazing borough.
"This is all about our communities and the future of Sefton so we want everyone to seize this opportunity. Seeing the communities of Sefton flourish in the future is something that matters to all of us and these conversations can and will shape our plans.
A consultation ran throughout June & July 2016 and we would like to thank everyone who has taken the time and effort to get involved and have their say on how they imagine Sefton in 2030.
We have been overwhelmed with the response and all your comments and views will now be collated as we lead on developing a new and exciting vision for the future of the borough.
This is just the beginning and we will continue to engage with the public, visitors, local businesses and potential investors in creating a vision that will collectively promote shared prosperity, coordinated public investment, and a healthy environment and population.
Further events are planned in the future so please keep on visiting this site for more information. Developing a vision will take time and we still want to hear from you with any ideas or comments. Please visit www.imaginesefton2030.co.uk or contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
