The CAS: programmes for young people

As part of our support for young people, we will either run or help them to get involved in a wide range of programmes. Our team at the CAS is currently involved in the following:

Changing Places

Changing Places is a 10 weeks course which focuses on developing self awareness, self-esteem and confidence for 12-18 year olds. This course includes work aimed at addressing domestic violence, general offending behaviour, substance use issues and poor school performance.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's (D of E) Award is a programme to inspire, guide and support young people in their self-development and enable them to recognise their achievements. The D of E challenges young people to undertake activities in a timescales which will count towards their volunteering, physical and skills sections as well as them undertaking an expedition section.

Strengthening Families

Our Strengthening Families course is a 7 week group designed specifically to promote healthy relationships in the family home by encouraging communication, positive support and understanding of family members needs.  The course is focused on both young people and parents and uses a variety of tools to achieve success, such as guided group activities and games about building trust whilst having fun.
