Children's Services aims to promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people. They will receive early help, attend outstanding nurseries and schools, access quality apprenticeships and vocational training, leading to highly skilled jobs and careers in the area.
These services should provide adequately for their needs for security, safety, health and development and permanency, thereby equipping them to fulfil their potential as healthy and secure adults in our society.
To further this aim there is a corporate agreement that all children identified as being 'in need' will be prioritised by all agencies.
Children and Young People’s Plan
The Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) is the single strategic 5 year plan for all services and organisations which work with children and families in Sefton.
People Strategy
As a council, we recognise our people are our greatest asset. The purpose of our Children’s Social Care People Strategy is to equip those who are working to support children, young people and families across the Borough with the right skills, support and knowledge. We can only deliver good services if we retain and recruit confident, competent and highly skilled people that understand their responsibilities and work together with children, young people, families and partners to deliver relevant, responsive and high-quality services.
