Children and young people

Covid-19: important information

From Thursday, March 19, Menai, Thornton, Litherland, Linaker and Cambridge Family Wellbeing Centres will close. This will enable staff to work from other Centres and continue to deliver services. All other Centres remain open at this time. As from Monday, March 23, we will be further rationalising delivery of services from buildings. As such the following buildings will be open: Marie Clarke Family Wellbeing Centre (South Locality); Netherton Family Wellbeing Centre (Central Locality) and Talbot Street Family Wellbeing Centre (North Locality). In addition, all group based non-essential activities in the Sefton Family Wellbeing Centres for the next month. This is to help support the Government’s delay phase of the COVID-19 response.

We offer so much at Sefton Council, whether at one of our Family Wellbeing Centres, libraries or leisure centres.

Family is the most important influence on a child's life, from the moment they are born until they reach adulthood and beyond.

Family Wellbeing Centres provide joined up support for children and young people aged 0-19 years to make family life that little bit easier.

When there, parents and carers can expect extra help, advice and guidance to help them build confidence and resilience to deal with things that family life throws at them, from the challenge of first becoming a parent to deciding what to do when they leave school and much more besides.

Family Wellbeing Centres offer support with:

  • Parenting - parents to be, new parents, behaviour, speech and language
  • Health - midwifery, health visitors, mental health, healthy eating, sexual health
  • Employment - including training and apprenticeships
  • Education - early learning, attendance, further education, achievements
  • Leisure - social opportunities, events, clubs, activities
  • Relationships - counselling, loneliness, bereavement
  • Welfare - benefits, debt advice, housing

If you or a family that you are working with would like to access an activity or intervention from one of the family wellbeing centres please complete the Family Wellbeing Referral Form and send it to the Early Help Front Door ([email protected]) or to your local centre and we will get back to you with more information.
