If you are age 11-25 years of age and LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) or questioning your sexuality, New Beginnings is there for you.
New Beginnings is a safe space for you to meet other LGBT young people and have fun.
Qualified youth workers will be on hand to support you one-to-one, in a group, with your family or all three – whichever you are most comfortable with.
Not only do you meet up with like-minded young people, youth workers will help you and your family to be more confident with your identity. They do this in a hands-on way that everyone can take part in.
Your safety as LGBT is the most important part of New Beginnings, our youth workers will be on hand to give you the know how to be safe. This help comes in 5 different parts of what we call Keeping Safe Work, these are:
- Understanding Bullying and ways to address it.
- Substance misuse, including alcohol and ways to stay healthy.
- Understanding Sexual health and ways to stay healthy.
- Understanding Homophobia and how to stay safe.
- Parent support group.
It’s not all youth work, New Beginnings sessions are great fun too. Let loose with your passions, whether its sport, music, drama, current affairs or simply having a laugh.
Stand up for other LGBT young people by planning events with New Beginnings, such as taking part in Liverpool Pride. Bend the ears of movers and shakers in Sefton and beyond, being heard on LGBT issues.
If you’re reading this page wondering how to get involved, New Beginnings is a closed group, but you can join by contacting the group on 07974 267 767 or by email
