Public Notice and Proposal for Waterloo Primary School
Notice is given in accordance with Regulations 4 and 5 of the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 that Sefton Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Waterloo Primary School from July 2023.
This consultation is being undertaken to advise you of proposals concerning Waterloo Primary School and to invite you to tell us what you think of the proposals. This is part of a statutory consultation process that Sefton Council is managing in partnership with the school’s Governing Body.
The proposal is:
- To change the age range at Waterloo primary School from 4 - 11 to 2 - 11 from July 2023. The published admission number (PAN) for the main school will not be affected by these proposals. The nursery provision will be offered in a more flexible way, according to parental demand.
- To run all nursery provision for 2-3 year under the direction of the School Governors from July 2023

Notice is given in accordance with Regulations 4 and 5 of the School Organisation (Prescribed Alterations to Maintained Schools) (England) Regulations 2013 that Sefton Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to the following schools from 1 September 2023 onwards:
Thomas Gray Primary School, Chestnut Grove, Bootle, Merseyside, L20 4LX
Bishop David Sheppard CE Primary School, Devonshire Road, Southport, PR9 7BZ
Holy Family Catholic High School, Virgins Lane, Thornton, Merseyside, L23 4UL
Formby High School, Freshfield Road, Formby, Merseyside, L37 3HW
The proposed significant change at these schools will be the establishment of a SEN unit for children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The proposed provision will be appropriately resourced to ensure that the children placed will be supported in achieving their educational outcomes.

Sefton Education Services
Sefton Education Services is the one stop shop for a range services on offer to schools, colleges and early years settings, from the Authority. In addition, training can be booked through the site.
The site is also the primary method of communication between schools and the Authority. News, resources and information can be accessed.
