Are you unemployed and looking for work? Have a great business idea and want to get started running your own company? The help and support you need can be found in your local library. 

Job Clubs 

Being unemployed can be hard to cope with on your own, Sefton Library Service Job Clubs are there to help you. 

Job Club volunteers will be on hand to offer help and support for anyone looking for work. The will help you to do the following: 

  • Register on the Universal Job Match website
  • Set up emails
  • Complete online forms, and applications
  • Access job seeking websites
  • Build your CV

The club is open to anyone currently seeking work.

The Job Clubs are available at the following libraries: 

Library  Day   Time 
Bootle Monday  10.15am - 12.15pm 
Crosby Wednesday  10am - 1pm
Formby  Wednesday 2.30pm - 4.30pm
Netherton   Thursday 1pm - 3pm
Southport Wednesday 2pm - 4pm

Starting your own business the Smarta way

Sefton Library Service has teamed up with enterprise hub Smarta Business Starter to deliver regular workshops for anyone age 16 years+ who want to start their own business. 

At selected libraries in Sefton, residents will be eligible for 12 hours of individually funded support, spread across a 6-8 week period. With this funded support, Smarta's business advisors will help you to:

  • Understand the process of starting a business
  • Research a business idea
  • Complete a Business Plan
  • Develop a Marketing Plan, including the best ways to use web and social media to grow your business
  • Create financial forecasts
  • Raise finance

Southport Tuesday 10am – 1pm
Formby Tuesday 2pm – 4pm
Crosby Friday 10am – 1pm
Meadows Friday 2pm – 4pm
