Get in the festive spirit at Salt and Tar

Salt and Tar’s first ever Winter Street Food Market will bring an extra special helping of festive fun to Bootle next month.

Taking place over Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th December, the canal side venue’s Winter Street Food Market will be a food, shopping and entertainment on offer.

Pop-up vendors will offer a selection of street food from around the world, as well as bars and festive hot drinks to keep the chill at bay. Local makers will also be in attendance with a variety of gifts to help visitors put unique finishing touches to the Christmas shopping.

There will be something for everyone, with family entertainment, face painting, live music and a DJ to keep the fun going.

Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills said: “Over the past year, we’ve had some fantastic events at Salt and Tar, which has showcased its potential as a popular new outdoor venue.

“I can’t wait to welcome everyone back to see our Winter Street Food Market.

“There will be plenty on offer for the whole family to get you into the Christmas spirit, from delicious food and drinks, to live entertainment. It’s going to be a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the year and enjoy the festive atmosphere at Salt and Tar.”

The market will run from 4pm to 9pm on Friday 8th, from 12noon to 9pm on Saturday 9th and 12 noon to 6pm on Sunday 10th December.

The Winter Market will be dog-friendly, and a full programme of entertainment and timings will be released soon.

Earlier this year, Salt and Tar played host to a successful Comedy Weekender followed by a music festival in July, which saw over 6,000 visitors enjoy the venue. Top performers included Cast, Red Rum Club and The Lathums. The July event has recently been shortlisted for Best New Festival at the 2023 Festival Awards.
