The local flavour at the Salt and Tar music weekend will extend far beyond the bands performing, with several businesses from the area pledging their support.

Popular brewery Love Lane has been confirmed as the major sponsor and official beer of the event, which will light up the Bootle canal-side from Friday 7th July to Sunday 9th July.

Incredible support

Councillor Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills said: “When we designed Salt and Tar, we wanted it to be a celebration of the local area and all it has to offer.

“I am delighted that we are able to work closely with Sound City and Live Nation to arrange for local businesses to provide food and drink for the upcoming music event and the support that we have received from the other partners has been incredible.

“Following the success of May’s comedy weekender, I am sure that this weekend won’t be one to miss.

“We’ve already received lots of positive feedback from residents and visitors about Salt and Tar. It is our first step in the regeneration of Bootle town centre and I can’t wait to see what the future holds, not only for the venue, but for the town as a whole.”

Stephen Crawley, Founder & Chief Executive of Love Lane Brewery, said: "Love Lane and the Salt & Tar music weekend is the perfect combination - like a burger and pint of Love Lane Pale Ale.

“It's a real honour to be the major sponsor and official beer of the inaugural Salt & Tar music weekend, providing world-class beer direct from the Baltic to Bootle for fans of world class music from our region - and to play our part in cementing Salt & Tar as an amazing new events space. It's going to be a great weekend."

Strong line-up

Iconic local bands Red Rum Club, The Lathums and Cast will all land in Bootle for hotly anticipated gigs.

Sefton’s own Red Rum Club come to Salt and Tar fresh off the success of their third album, How to Steal the World, and a debut US tour.

The Lathums, meanwhile, recently thrilled fans with a televised set from The Other Stage at the famed Glastonbury Festival.

In another coup for the inaugural Salt and Tar music event, legendary rockers Cast bring an act that has been entertaining crowds for the past 30 years.

Tickets for Red Rum Club have sold out, with seats selling fast for The Lathums and Cast. The few remaining tickets can be bought on the Live Nation website.

Collaborative transformation

Ellandi, Unison and Avison Young have been named as supporting partners alongside Love Lane, with EMR Recycling confirmed as the event’s official recycling partner.

Mark Robinson, Co-Founder and Director of Ellandi, added: “At Ellandi, we firmly believe in the power of creating inclusive and engaging spaces that foster a sense of belonging, connection, and shared experience.

Salt and Tar is a crucial part of the cultural transformation of Bootle town centre, working in tandem with other potential uses such as health, education and employment delivery for the community a new, future-ready, town centre.”
