Household waste recycling centres
You can dispose of large household items or green waste
at a waste recycling centre.
You can access the waste recycling centres without a
permit to dispose of household waste if you are driving a
car with or without a trailer (trailer up to 2m long).
You can access the waste recycling centres with a
permit to dispose of household waste if you are driving
a van or are using a trailer (trailer between 2 and 3m
long).
For the purposes of this scheme, a van is defined as:
- Any vehicle without side/rear windows
- Any ‘flat back’ vehicle
- Any ‘pickup’ vehicle
- Estate/hatchback /4x4/ cars with rear seats permanently
removed
- Estate/hatchback /4x4/ cars with blanked out side/rear
windows
You cannot access the waste recycling centres
if you are driving a vehicle above 3.5 tonnes gross weight or with
a trailer longer than 3m.

Authority who operate the waste recycling centres.
Alternatively you may wish to use the Civic amenity
service for the collection of bulky household items.
