Petroleum and Explosives Licences
As the licensing authority the Fire Service is
responsible for ensuring safety at sites where petrol is delivered,
stored or dispensed, and where explosives are stored.
Fireworks
We enforce the legislation
that:
- Prohibits the sale of fireworks to under 18's
- Prohibits the sale of banned fireworks - such as airbombs and
bangers
- Prohibits the splitting of retail boxes of fireworks
- Ensures fireworks have been properly made

The Police
enforce the legislation that prohibits the sale of fireworks in the
street and also the setting off of fireworks on the street.
The Fire Service issue licences for the sale
and storage of fireworks.
