Sefton jobs

Sefton is a diverse and exciting borough where people can enjoy a great work/life balance.

Sand dunesWith 22 miles of coastline, stretching from Bootle in the south to the Classic Resort of Southport in the north, there is something for everyone from modern business and industrial centres to fun and relaxing leisure destinations, modern attractions and Victorian heritage.

Set between the River Mersey and the Ribble Estuary the borough extends out to Maghull in the east, neighbouring Liverpool and West Lancashire.

The town of Crosby has shot to fame in recent years as home of the incredible Another Place artwork by Antony Gormley. The series of “Iron Men” stretch out across Crosby beach looking out to sea in what has become an internationally acclaimed visitor attraction.

Sefton is home to one of the biggest and most successful shipping ports in the world, The Port of Liverpool, with cargo departing and arriving from around the globe 24 hours a day.

The borough also encompasses world renowned nature reserves, thriving business and retail centres, top class leisure facilities and some of the best agricultural land and countryside locations in the country.

It is no wonder that around 300,000 people choose Sefton as their home - as the borough neighbours 2008 Capital of Culture, Liverpool, has excellent travel links to Manchester and Preston and is a central location for accessing the whole of the UK by road, rail and air.

From vibrant town centres, intimate commuter towns, beautiful villages and stunning countryside or coastal locations, anyone can find their perfect home in Sefton.

Among the many internationally renowned facilities are Aintree Racecourse (home of the Grand National) and Royal Birkdale Golf Club, which is a regular host of the prestigious Open Golf Championship.

Sefton Council works hard with its partners to ensure that the borough is a safe, clean and enjoyable place to live and work.
