  • The 'Springy' Daffodil Ride Series

    Southport Cycle CentreJoin your local Sustrans Ranger on a led cycle ride from Southport Station.  Ride 005 the Crosby Coastal Cruiser will take you to Crosby and the Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre before returning to Southport.

    If you wish to take part in the ride and dont have your own bike then you can hire one from the Cycle Centre at Southport Station.

  • Walk in the Woods Month

    The Mersey Forest have produced a guide for Walk in the Woods Month.  Visit the online guide to see the full listings or to search for what's on near you:

    Walkers feetThis week you can join the
    Larkhill Woods Walk 
    in Formby. Meeting at Formby Pool, his walk will last between 1.5 and 2 hours and is suitable for those accustomed to walking at a brisker pace.  The nearest train station is Formby.

    While you are out and about exploring our beautiful area, or visiting one of our wonderful attractions, dont forget your camera.

    The 2013 Photography Competition is currently running until the end of August.  With a first prize of £100 worth of shopping vouchers for the winning photograph, and £25 for all other photographs used it has to be worth a try!

    New! Owl Themed Cycle Route

    Owl Route CoverThe first of our popular themed cycle routes around Magull! The Owl Route is classed as moderate and at 10 miles, mostly off road, should take about 80 to 100 minutes to complete.

    Do take time to visit the giant owl sculpture that forms the centrepiece to the Jubilee Woods Trust project.

    Suitable for families the route starts at Maghull Station, making it even easier as you can bring your bike by train for free on the Merseyrail network. You can plan your journey using the Traveline website.
