Our Future, Our Bootle - Bootle Area Action Plan

‘Our Future, Our Bootle’ is an Area Action Plan (AAP) which sets out a clear vision for the town and the wider area for the next two decades and beyond. An AAP is type of development plan for a specified area. The AAP covers Bootle and parts of Seaforth and Litherland.

At its meeting of 15 January 2026, Sefton Council resolved to formally adopt the Bootle Area Action Plan. The Bootle Area Action now therefore forms part of the statutory development plan for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton under section 38 of the Act with immediate effect, alongside the Sefton Local Plan 2017; Joint Waste Local Plan for Merseyside and Halton; and the Neighbourhood Development Plans for Formby and Little Altcar, Maghull and Lydiate.
