Heroes Welcome In Sefton
This "Heroes Welcome in Sefton" campaign was launched in June
2009 by the Mayor of Sefton.
Sefton's First Business!
On Tuesday 14th July, Sefton Council officially received it's
first application from a local business to take part in the 'Heroes
Welcome' scheme. The business was Cafe des Crepes in Formby, and
they received an official visit from the Mayor of Sefton to launch
the scheme.
How to Apply (Businesses)
Aims of the Scheme:
To promote awareness and Civic Pride of our residents in
the Borough of Sefton in relation to our active British Armed
Forces Service Men and Women (Including Reserve Forces) and
Veterans.
Any business who is able to offer a discount or service to our
active British Armed Forces Service Men and Women (Including
Reserve Forces) and Veterans within the Borough of Sefton or
visiting the Borough are encouraged to participate.
How does it work?
Each business (no matter how big or small) can apply to join the
scheme at anytime by completing the application form, the form can
be collected from Bootle or Southport Town Hall Reception or
downloaded here.
The application from should be completed and sent along with
a stamped addressed envelope (This is to ensure the scheme is
run at no cost) to the following address:

Once we receive your application form, your business name will
be posted on the website in the catergory under which your business
fits and the nature of the discount/service offered.
As a business you will receive the "Heroes Welcome in Sefton"
sticker and a welcome joining letter. This letter will give
you information on the scheme along with any required contact
details. It also will give you information on how to remove your
business from the scheme should you at some stage decide to
withdraw your discount/service.
About the Scheme
The scheme could not
be more simpler to operate:
British Armed Forces Service Men and Women (Including Reserve
Forces) on production of an identification card will be able to
claim discount or a service offered by the establishment they
are visiting.
War Veterans within the Borough of Sefton or visiting the
Borough on production of their Veterans Badge (see example) will be
able to claim the discount or service offered by the establishment
they are visiting.
