Sefton travel team
Sefton Travel Team is a new travel advice and information
service. We are managed by Sefton Council, in partnership with
Merseytravel and Sefton New Directions, funded by the European
Regional Development Fund.
Our main aim is to reduce transport
barriers for people living in Pathways areas of South Sefton,
improving accessibility to employment and training, as well as
other essential services such as leisure and healthcare. This
contributes to the wider issue of Social Inclusion and is supported
by the Local Transport Plan for Merseyside 2006-2011.
What we do?
We give free advice and information on all transport
options:
- Public transport advice, including information on walking and
cycling where appropriate
- Information on alternative modes of transport such as the
Workwise Scooter Commuter initiative
Personal Journey Plan
Individual plan giving detailed step
by step information for a specific journey need. This includes maps
and can be produced in accessible formats where necessary.
Practical support to access public
transport
One to one coaching and training sessions for people with
disabilities and people in receipt of Incapacity Benefit. This can
cover issues such as confidence using transport or a particular
route and road safety.
Feedback to Merseytravel
Reporting on issues such as gaps in service provision,
information needs etc.
