Roads, highways and pavements
As the local
highway authority, Sefton Council is responsible for managing and
maintaining the local highway network, including street
lighting, traffic lights and traffic calming.
We are also charged by central
government with making our roads safer for everyone who uses
them.
In 2000, local authority parking enforcement (LAPE) was
introduced and since then we have also been responsible for
enforcing parking restrictions throughout the Borough.
