Sefton Supporting People Audit Commission Re-inspection
The re-inspection took place last year and the Audit
Commission has stated that Sefton is delivering a 'fair' service
with 'promising' prospects for improvement.

Consultations
The consultations on the following strategies have
ended;
- Move-on strategy - this outlines how Sefton
Supporting People will help service users move into more
independent and permanent accommodation
- Commissioning Strategy - this outlines how
Sefton Supporting People will commission and procure future
services
The final draft versions of the strategies are available from
the Supporting People Team.
Supporting People Annual Report 2008-09
Sefton Supporting People has produced an
Annual
Report. The report details key information on topics
including clients accessing services, outcomes achieved,
performance, progress against the Quality Assessment Framework,
service user involvement and progress with respect to meeting
priorities identified in the Five-Year strategy.
An Annual Report for 2009/10 will be produced soon in
consultation with clients - Watch this space!
The Supporting People Strategy
Sefton 'refreshed' its
Five Year
Supporting People Strategy in 2008, which details how
the programme will be delivered in Sefton and Key priorities.
The original strategy was for the period 2005 to 2010. The
refreshed strategy has been extended to 2011 and contains revised
priorities for service developments and key work that Sefton is to
conduct.
There is an
Executive Summary of the strategy which details the main
points of the full document.
There is also an
easy
read version of the strategy.
Supporting People Services in Sefton
We currently have a wide range of services available in Sefton
including;
- Sheltered housing and Community Alarm services for older
people
- Supported housing for vulnerable adults
- Supported housing and floating/visiting support for people with
mental health problems
- Supported housing and floating/visiting support for people with
learning disabilities
- Hostel for women at risk of domestic violence
- Hostels for homeless families and single homeless people
- Accommodation based and floating/visiting support for
offenders, ex-offenders and people with substance misuse
problems
- Accommodation based and floating/visiting support for people
with a sensory and/or physical disability
- Home Improvement Agency / Handyperson services
- Supported housing for people with alcohol problems
- Floating/visiting support services that can accept various
clients including teenage parents
- Supported housing for young people at risk
Sefton has recently reviewed it's local directory of
Supporting People services. The directory details services
that are available by client groups and details of how to access
these services.
Supporting People Eligibility Criteria
Sefton has an Eligibility Criteria for Supporting People ho
help providers, service users and referrers to assess the
eligibility for Supporting People funding.
It helps to determine whether the client and the available
support package are compatible and appropriate.
