Services at Children’s Centres
Children’s Centres
bring together a range of services for families with young
children.
The following pages provide a snapshot of some of the services
you and your child can benefit from at your local Children’s
Centre. Although services will differ slightly between centres they
all have a common purpose – to support the development and
well-being of young children.
Childcare and Early Education
Some centres have a nursery providing high quality childcare and
early education for children from aged three months to five
years.
Nurseries within Children’s Centres combine a secure and caring
environment - where your child will feel happy, relaxed and
confident - with the very best facilities and carers to help them
develop new skills and, ultimately, prepare for school.
We provide:
- Nursery care for babies and children aged 3 months to 5
years
- Free Early Education places for 3 & 4 year olds
- First class facilities, play and educational resources
- Professional & caring staff supported by a Qualified early
Years teacher
- Full or part time places available
- Open all year round (8am – 6pm, 50 weeks a year)
Most of our
Children's Centres are directly linked to schools. Those that are
not will have a close working relationship with schools in its
area. Each Children's Centre will be supported by a qualified
Teacher advising, guiding and helping plan the learning activities
that will be taking place in the nursery.
As part of Sefton Council, we can provide a unique level of
reassurance, quality care and expertise. We recognise the valuable
role played by people who work with children and are commited to
recruiting and retaining a highly skilled childcare workforce.
By choosing Seftons Children's Centres you can feel confident
you have made the right choice.
Centres without a nursery have links with Sefton Families Information Service who can
help you find childcare.
Please note:
Nurseries are fee paying – for rates please contact individual
centres. (View details of the Children's Centres contacts).
All accept the Free Early Years Entitlement, which
entitles all three and four years olds to five 2.5 hour sessions
per week, starting the term after their third birthday.
