Parking
Up until February 2000 the responsibilty for parking
enforcement was split between the Police and the Council. On the
1st February 2000 the Council adopted the powers available to it
through decriminalised parking enforcement and is now responsible
for enforcing the majority of parking issues in Sefton.
On the 1st February 2004, parking services took over from
social services the responsibility for the issue of blue badges to
disabled motorists.
From 31st March 2008, the Council adopted Civil Parking
Enforcement powers for the enforcement of parking restrictions
under the Traffic Management Act 2004 within the borough.
