Allotments
Sefton has 13 allotments throughout the
borough, giving many people the chance to grow their own fruit and
veg, and to be involved in the friendly social side of
gardening.
Allotments are being reinvigorated,
through media, organic foods and environmental concerns.
The 'Green Gyms' initiative is one
response to the growing need and demand for people who don't like
gyms and sports centres to work for the community get health as
well as meet new and like minded people. One such scheme operates
at Queensway Allotments.
