What we do – Instrumental and vocal teaching in Sefton maintained schools

Sefton Music Service is committed to achieving the highest standards in music education for all pupils in Sefton maintained schools.

As well as focusing on instrumental and vocal tuition in schools the Service provides the opportunity for wider musical experience through the participation in a broad range of ensembles, music centres and other activities.

People singingMusic Service staff are among the best instrumental and vocal teachers. Standards are maintained through continuing professional development which is offered through the Service’s own programme of in-service training. Staff also regularly attend externally provided courses. Sefton Music Service is at the forefront of current trends in music teaching through its close links with FMS (Federation of Music Services), ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), Voices Foundation, National Association of Music Education and other organisations.
