Cold weather payments
The Department for Works and Pensions is responsible for making
cold weather payments to eligible customers on a low income.
People on certain qualifying benefits, for example Pension
Credit, are eligible.
A Cold Weather Payment is available for each seven day period at
or below zero degrees. This year the payment is £25.00 per week and
is made as a separate payment, on top of the Winter Fuel
Payment.
There is no need to claim, eligible customers are paid
automatically.
For further information concerning cold weather payments, visit
the Cold Weather Payment
section of the DirectGov website where you will find detailed
information on who will qualify for the payment.
